Rewiring Aotearoa

Rewiring Aotearoa is an independent research and advocacy organisation focused on accelerating the electrification of New Zealand’s economy. It promotes replacing fossil fuel systems, including gas and petrol, with electric alternatives powered by renewable energy.

The organisation produces modelling, economic analysis and public education resources to demonstrate how large-scale electrification can reduce emissions, lower household and business energy costs, and strengthen national energy resilience. Rewiring Aotearoa contributes research-led perspectives to policy discussions about New Zealand’s long-term energy transition.
